A Few Details

Everyday that goes by, we get closer to D-Day. D-Day = delivery day.

This week we were able to get the crib set up! The first attempt was unsuccessful, due to the fact that I was not helping, and Matt was trying to put it together himself. Disaster struck. While trying to balance 3 pieces of wood together (more like 3 sides of the crib), one piece dropped...and the screw snapped inside of the hole. We aren't really sure how that happened...so we had to come up with a new game plan when we attempted to put it together a second time.

attempt #2 - fixing disaster from attempt #1

Also, this week, I was able to assemble all of the little birds for the mobile. The mobile is not together, but the birds are assembled. Let me tell you, it took waaay more work to put these little guys together. I found the pattern online here. They made it seem so simple. But, really...if it weren't for Grandma Woodward and her mad sewing skills...I'd stll be stitching these things together, one stitch at a time. I probably wouldn't finish sewing them until my son graduated from high school. Just being brutally honest. I'm exited to get this together!! I think I am going to wait until my mom gets here...so she can help me with it!

We finally got the knobs on the dresser! I love the way they look in the room! Things are starting to come together! I can't wait to reveal the entire room!

In other news, I will be spending the day tomorrow with Megan! We plan on doing some shopping, more shopping, movie, and then dinner with our guys! I'm looking forward to it! Should be a good time!

Until next time...which will hopefully be sooner, rather than later!

Sneak Peak

Julie has been in town visiting us this week. And, we put her to work! She was an awesome help! She painted the baby's bedroom all by herself, and did an amazing job!! I'm so proud of her, and appreciated her help so much!

Today, the three of us (well, mostly Matt) put together a couple of the furniture pieces that we got last weekend at Ikea. Things are starting to come together in that room. There is still lots of accessorizing to do in order to get this room in working order. We need to hang the wall shelves, put up curtains, buy a crib and put that together, finish the mobile, etc. Lots to do, but it gives us something to do in the remaining few weeks!! I am excited to see it all come together. The crib that I originally wanted for the room is currently back ordered. I don't know if I should wait to see how long it will take to come back in stock, or if I should look for a new one. Who knows?! I'll get it figured out. I mean, my mom is still working on the quilt, so I have time! :)

Here is a little sneak peak...

I am still waiting on some cute blue/turquoise knobs that I ordered from Anthropologie. I know they will help spice up the dresser! Today was productive!! I'm excited for the next couple of weeks to see how it all comes together!
