Snow Day + Shaving Cream

Shaving Cream )

19.365 - reliving one of my favorite childhood activities

Today it snowed a little. Grayson and I needed an indoor activity to keep us busy. Growing up, I remember sitting at my grandparent's table and playing with shaving cream. I would fill up measuring cups and spoons, "pour" it into bowls, spread it thin across the table, stack the poufs up as far as I could. It was absolute fun. I decided today was a perfect day for this! Grayson wasn't so sure about it at first...but let me tell you...after a few moments to warm up, he ended up he LOVING it. I know these pictures look like he was eating it...let me assure you, I did not let him take one bite. After his nap...we may go out to brave the elements!

W

Guess what I made?! A REAL moss letter, using the first initial of our last name!! It was a fantastic day with some of my closest girlfriends...just crafting away in the dining room of my friend, Betsy. She saw these letters at Pottery Barn a while back, and figured we could make these letters easily enough, for quite a bit cheaper. Well, guess what? We succeeded in what we set out to do. We made them for...drum roll please....a whopping $13. And, they turned out sooo adorable! I decided to hang mine on the door from my garage into my house. It's the door we use most often. I figure that guests won't see it as much as me...but I will have the privilege of seeing this beauty everyday. And, relishing in the fact that I saved myself $66 (non-sale price)...and that price doesn't even include shipping. So, it could be more like $75. Crazy, huh?

Not Lacking in Anything

I am loving my study in James! I have learned so much in the past few weeks. The Lord is really opening up my eyes to the way I deal with situations and "trials" in my own life. It has been absolutely amazing.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." James 1:2-5

365

365...that is the number of days in a year. Well, this year, that number would technically be 366. So, I have been thinking lately...I want to challenge myself. I want to do something, and stick with it. It's hard for me to do that. I get distracted. I think it is easy for me to stick with something if I truly love it. And, I love photography. Or, at least I think I love it. I'm not the greatest at it, but I'm trying. And, I think this challenge is exactly what would help me get better. I want to take one picture a day. One. That's it. It doesn't have to be something spectacular. It can be what I ate for breakfast. A little blessing. My favorite notebook. My lover. The cows. The outdoors. A cup of coffee. The possibilities are endless. It will be little pieces of me documented through a full year. Do you think I can do it? I don't want to blog every.single.picture. But, I want to try and blog as many as I can. It shouldn't be too hard, right?
